Mundialito of Portimão gets huge TV success
Final between Portugal and Spain climbs to a 24% audience share, and becomes the most watched sports event in the country
The broadcasting of the Beach Soccer Mundialito through TVI became the most watched sport event in the whole television grid in Portugal. Figures of up to 24% audience share had the Mundialito overtaking other spectacles as the Olympic Games on RTP or the Formula 1 GP in Hungary, and confirm the passionate love relationship between Beach Soccer and TV.
Overall, the final of this traditional Beach Soccer competition was placed as the 9th most watched TV program in the country, considering the whole 24 hours and including TV News programs, films and other programmes. In TVI, only the everyday-leader Jornal das 8 (TV News) got higher audiences in terms of audience share data.
