Al Ahli claims Federation Cup

Tight win over Jumeirah (7-6) has “the Knights” extending their triumphal run in the Emirate

The end of Al Ahli’s reign in the United Arab Emirates beach soccer stage seems nowhere close. The “Knights” added a new honour to their breathtaking tally after a narrow win yesterday over Fuhood Jumeirah, in the final of the Federation Cup.

Al Ahli, with four World Cup champions in their ranks, tightly bent a mighty Jumeirah side, with Spanish ace Llorenç. Indeed, the Portuguese gang had a lot to do with the final score, with Madjer, Coimbra, Jordan and Bruno Novo (2) finding the opponent’s nets to seal the victory. Rashed and Hamad rounded the scorer’s list for “The Knights”.

It is difficult to imagine a better way to begin the season for Al Ahli, who will now focus on their next big challenge, the Mundialito de Clubes, kicking off next December 9th in Rio de Janeiro.
