The I Juegos Nacionales de Playa “Manta 2017” de Olimpiadas Especiales, featuring 400 athletes, took place last weekend in Ecuador
Beach Soccer was one of the four sports at the I Juegos Nacionales de Playa “Manta 2017” de Olimpiadas Especiales (Ecuador National Beach Games for Special Olympics athletes) together with Athletics, Beach Volleyball and Beach Handball.
Manta, home to the Juegos Suramericanos de Playa in 2011, came back with a new beach sports festival, where beach soccer played again an important role.
More than 400 athletes from 20 different provinces in Ecuador took part in the competition, showing that sports is one of the most powerful elements for integration.
