Beach Soccer USA Cup ready for kick-off

Oceanside (CA) will see 16 PRO teams and around 300 amateur sides compete in one of the most iconic events in the USA

Friday May 15th will mark the beginning of the 9th Beach Soccer Championships and Beach Soccer USA Cup, involving up 310 teams that include 16 PRO teams from all around the world. These PRO teams have traveled 47,010 miles in order to arrive to Oceanside, in California, to make the competitiveness of the event increase exponentially.

The competition in the West Coast comes this year tighter than ever. Up to 16 teams from 10 different countries will be vying to dethrone defending champions CD Nacional de Madeira in the PRO division. These include giants such as FC Barcelona, Japanese champions Tokyo Lequios, Colosseum Roma, Swiss powerhouses BSC Chargers, or Colombian Antioquia BSC.

Four groups of our teams configure the PRO competition, with the following distribution:

Group A: FC Barcelona (Spain), Antioquia BSC (Colombia), Portland BSC (USA), Great Lakes BSC (USA)

Group B: CD Nacional (Portugal), Team Canada (Canada), Culture FC (USA), JBSN Select (Japan)

Group C: Colosseum Roma (Italy), San Diego Sockers (USA), LA Beach Soccer (USA), Shoreline Nomads (USA)

Group D: Tokyo Lequios (Japan), BSC Chargers (Switzerland), CD Inter Tijuana (Mexico), Flying Kick FC (USA)

The two first-ranked teams of each group will advance to semifinals.

Besides the PRO competition, the Beach Soccer Championships involve around 300 amateur teams, which turn this weekend into a true beach soccer festival. Indeed, the competition’s 9-year history has made the Beach Soccer Championships the premier beach soccer destination on the west coast and is among the top beach soccer events in the nation.
