?Berlin is an ideal place for Beach Soccer?

German Captain, Oliver Romrig has no doubt that Power Horse Euro Beach Soccer League Berlin 2012 will be a new success

After their demanding last weeks, ending with a tough but exciting weekend in Portugal at the BSWW Mundialito of Portimão, the German Beach Soccer National team looks now forward for the upcoming  Power Horse Euro Beach Soccer League Berlin 2012, taking place from 3rd to 5th of August, by the Berliner O2 World. The team’s expectations are really high, specially for the opportunity of experiencing such a top-flight event at home, as the team’s captain, Oliver Romrig, explains: “We are really thrilled with the Power Horse Euro Beach Soccer Berlin taking place at our capital again. There’s nothing better than playing in front of your people. It is not only because the support you feel every moment, but also because of the opportunity of showing them all what beach soccer is about, and granting them a wonderful exciting time”.

For the talented forward, there’s no doubt that Berlin and Beach Soccer combine in a perfect binomial: “Berlin is an ideal place for Beach Soccer. It is a huge city, with people from everywhere, and it is highly sports-passionate. I am sure people in Germany are looking forward to this event, and we will have a wonderful atmosphere”.

Indeed, he only needs to look one year backwards to find the best feelings about what this new episode is going to be like: “Last time there, with the Euro Beach Soccer Berlin 2011, was just awesome. It was a great tournament, and the stadium was amazing. This year, I am sure it will be the same, or even better!

Besides, there is quite much at stake for the Mannschaft, as a victory on their own soil would secure Böringschulte’s side a place in the Euro Beach Soccer League Promotion Final 2012, to happen in The Hague between the 23rd and the 26th of August: “We are absolutely determined to perform at a good level, because our main goal is to earn a place in the Euro Beach Soccer League Promotion Final and fight to be among the best teams next season. We know, though, that we will have to play at our best level, as Turkey, Azerbaijan and Greece are highly competitive teams who will be looking exactly for the same objective than us…

With a renewed team, a professionalized structure, and a new crop of talents, the German team feels ready for the fight, especially after the concentrated dose of valuable experience they have been getting in the last weeks, facing the likes of Portugal, Spain, Switzerland, Oman, Poland…
