Continental champions and runners-up will fight for the Copa America, while Ecuador and Uruguay will square off for bronze
The two dominant forces in the South American pool, Brazil and Paraguay will face again today in the final of the Copa America Fútbol Playa Perú 2018, following their convincing wins in the semi-finals yesterday.
The Verdeamarela bent Ecuador in the first game yesterday, with goals by Datinha, Nelito, Felipe (2), Fernando DDI and Antonio. Gilberto’s lads, who keep extending their invincibility record had no problems to earn their right to fight for a new honour.
Paraguay, the team that has been contesting the Brazilian dominance in the last years, secured a new opportunity to dethrone the World Champions. The Guaraní stormed past Uruguay in the semi-finals clash yesterday to earn the second spot in the finals.
The Albirroja’s proficient attack, with hits by Saúl González (2), Pedro Morán, Carlos Carballo (3), Carlos V. Benítez (3), Luis A. Ojeda and Jesús Rolón, was too much to cope with for the Charrúa, who will now take on Ecuador in the fight for the third place in the competition.
