Rio Branco and the Geração women’s teams came together in an act of charity in Vitória at a center for children with cancer to help ring in the Brazilian holiday, Children’s’ Day
Solidarity was on full display between the Rio Branco club and the Geração Sports Beach Soccer women’s teams, this week in Vitória at the ACACCI Center for Children with Cancer, The athletes of the two institutions, which have previously participated in the “Mc Dia Feliz” campaign, returned to work in the fight against childhood cancer ahead of “Dia das Crianças”. Committed to the very important cause, the athletes played with the children, kicked the ball around, painted, danced, played hopscotch with the ACACCI kids. In addition to the seemingly endless fun, the teams also brought presents for the children and their families, which made for an even warmer trip home.
“I have no words to describe being here today, maybe just excitement. Our team had not participated in many of these activities before, but now we are fervently participating. There is a feeling of pride in being able to cause a small change in the world of these children, which I believe is extremely valuable” said Barbara Colodetti, who recently played in the Female Italian Beach Soccer Championship for the club Cantazaro. For Nathalia Bettini, Geração Sports Beach Soccer, is the most amazing thing to help understand how a small action can have such a great effect for both parties. “When we were invited by our technical engineer to visit the center, it was simply sensational. There is such a unique feeling being asked to participate and seeing the smiles you can provide.”
The attendees of the event included the a FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup champion, Bruno malias, who also happens to be the Rio Branco Beach Soccer coach, along with the Technical Director of the Geração Sports Beach Soccer club, Carlos Henrique Simões, who has already been participating in 3 years of events involving ACACCI, both with the futsal team and the Beach Soccer team. The next activity with the ACACCI will be at Christmas.
