The Verdeamarela edge Switzerland to claim the trophy, as Holland beat Mexico to clinch 3rd place

Brazil did not let the Swiss snatch the booty today in Santos. The Verdeamarela, who have remained unbeaten during the last two weeks to conquer the two cups they have hosted.

Overcoming once again an uncomfortable rain, Junior Negaõ?s side ran past one of the strongest teams in the World, the Swiss National side to claim the Copa das Nações.

Despite Stankovic swept the Alpine ahead, a 4-0 run by the Brazilians changed the course of the game drastically, with Benjamin, Sidney, Daniel and Jorginho hitting Valentin?s nets. After Samuel and Ziegler cut the distance, Bruno Xavier came to the rescue to crush the European reaction.

Meier helped the Swiss to keep believing in the victory that would have got them the cup, but just two minutes later, Bruno Xavier would deny their expectations definitively, with the final 6-4.  

The Brazilian team wanted to dedicate this victory to the victims of the tragedy in Santa Caterina this last night, and all their families.

In the other game of the day, the Netherlands could get even with the heavy defeat suffered yesterday and bent Mexico to end in the 3rd place of the final standings. Ouweland?s hit, the only in the match, was enough for Kokmeijer?s side to get the three points, thus overtaking the Azteca in the table.
