FIFA course making strides in Iran

Beach Soccer is ever expanding its scope as the most recent seminar took place in Iran from November 27th to December 1st

The FIFA coaching course  was directed by Marcelo Mendes, the current head coach of the Japanese National Selection and  very prominent figure in the sport, beginning on the 27th of November and finishing on the 1st of December. Other participants included: Coaches of the Iran Premier league, 1st Division League and the National team. Five players of the Iran National Selection, with over 10 years experience, also helped with the proceedings.

Seminars are held around the world to help educate, train, and build beach soccer development in regions which already have a system in place. Recent courses, and in the near future, have focused on the development of the women’s aspect of the game, as well as the new published Laws of the Game. The discussions, training, hands-on and theoretical, and general promotion of the game, took place at the Iran National Football Academy.

Iran has long since been committed to beach soccer and this was another step in further establishing themselves as a leader in beach soccer, not just in Asia but also the World. Iran has a well-developed men’s National League with multiple divisions, as well as a very competitive women’s league. Both those branches help to farm and feed the National team, which is a force to be reckoned with in the region.
