Ivan Rakitic, FC Barcelona midfielder, is another of the top-class footballers in love with Beach Soccer
The list of professional football players that jump to the beach to enjoy beach soccer whenever they can is just endless… One of the players in this list is Croatian FC Barcelona midfielder, and recently crowned Champions League winner, Ivan Rakitic.
In 2007, when he was a member of FC Basel, the Croatian star took part in a friendly game between the Swiss National Side and an All-star team featuring some other top-flight Swiss players such as Murat Yakin (today coach of Spartak Moscow) or Marco Streller (back at FC Basel after three years at the Bundesliga). Rakitic, although having Croatian passport was born in Switzerland, and spent his first years there, before signing for German side Schalke 04 in 2007.
