Krylya Sovetov stopped BSC en route as defending champios from Saint Petersburg needed third game against Dynamo Moscow
Krylya Sovetov and Kristall BSC will fight for the National League title this coming weekend, after prevailing in the semi-finals of this 2015 Super League. The Russian National Championship is as strong as ever and their international invitees and stars have put on a show to make for even more exciting matches. The thrilling semi-finals stage, featuring four big beach soccer monsters and many Russian and International stars, became the best proof of that.
Krylya Sovetov was the first side to advance to the final, with a shock in the Russian beach soccer world, not due to lack of talent but because they were facing an almost impossible Lokomotiv side. The Wings of he Soviet, and they had to get through the perennial Russian League champs to reach the final. Krylya Sovetov had never beaten Lokomotiv in 11 tries but they were able to succeed twice in a row on their 12th and 13th attempts. The first match was a penalties stunner that had Lokomotiv lose for the first time ever against the Wings of the Soviet. The second semi-final on Tuesday was an overtime cracker that had Felipe of Brazil score in overtime, 6-5, to prevent Lokomotiv from appearing in the final
In the other side of the chart, the battle between Dynamo and defending champions Kristall needed the third game tie-breaker to discern who was going to fight for the National Glory. Whereas the duel between Lokomotiv and Krylya was decided rather quickly, Kristall and Dynamo was a different story, though with an even more dramatic ending as Kristall won their first semi-final by a score of 6-0, but on the second day they were left heartbroken in a 5(10)-5(9) penalties shootout. A solid win by the ones from Saint Petersburg in the last match of the leg will have them fighting to reedit the Russian crown this coming weekend.
This weekend will also feature the Russian League All-stars match, facing the best National and International players taking part in the Russian League.
