Llorenç and Juanma: “We are back and ready!”

The Spain pair got back on the sand in Catania after knee injuries and feel ready for the World Cup qualifiers.

The recent Euro Beach Soccer League Superfinal brought some terrific beach soccer, hundreds of goals and quality moves.

But it also brought some excellent news, as long time injured pair Llorenç Gomez and Juanma Martín of Spain came back into competitive action after spending months out of the game.

The defender tore his tibial collateral ligament and broke his tibia during the BSWW Tour – Sal Beach Soccer Cup in late April, while the forward broke his internal meniscus a couple of weeks later, in the semifinals of the UAE National Championship.

Whereas Juanma played last week in the Portuguese National Championship Finals, those in Catania were the first minutes for Llorenç in the last months.

The forward knew that it would take some time to regain peak form, but the feeling after those first games back were positive.

I felt great. I know I will need more time, but I felt comfortable on the pitch, playing with my teammates at the highest level,” he told Beach Soccer Worldwide.

“I am looking forward for my knee to get stronger, but it is a great feeling to be back on the sand, doing what I love the most!.”

In turn, Juanma highlighted that his knee has not given any signs to worry about, adding: “I feel very confident already.

“I have undergone a thorough recovery, and everything has been okay. Now it is only a matter of getting as fit as possible. But for this I just need to play games and games.”

Those games will soon come thick and fast, as Spain make their debut this Friday at 14.00 local time against Denmark in the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup– Qualifier Jesolo Europe 2016.
