Men’s Serie A heats up and women crown champion

Catania’s slim victory over Terracina highlights exciting 3rd stage of the Serie A while Catanzaro earn women`s title

BetClic Beach Stadium in the city of Montalto di Castro, Italy, hosted the third stage in the Serie A Enel Beach Soccer League this past weekend, which happened to be the final stage for Group B. Two power houses in Domusbet Catania and Terracina fought to a 3-0 win for Catania as they used their local and international talent to defeat their rivals. In the other league action, Catanese outlasted Catanzaro 4-3, with all seven goals coming in the final two periods. Villafranca began their match against Pasta Strap Hermes Casgiove at a torrid pace, scoring three goals and maintaining a shutout until the final period, winning 4-1.Ecosistem Panarea CZ played from ahead for most of the 7-3 vitctory over Canaucchio, as they scored five opening period goals and tacked on one goal in each of the final two periods. 

 

Winning the group was a main priority for Catania and their win secured their spot at the top of Group B. The loss for Pasta Strap Hermes Casgiove relegates them to the second division though no one expects them to be there for long. All of the other winners improved their standing for the final stage which will be held in Etna. 

 

Catanzaro earns top Italian Women’s title

 

Italy has always had a very strong womens league and this year was just as exciting as past editions, with Catanzaro taking the crown. The 3-1 win over Salerno Magna Graecia was the fourth Women’s championship. The third place match was an intense defensive battle with Rome shutting down Res Mestre 4-0. The crowd was as delighted as every to watch this year’s women’s league as there were an abundance of surprises including the 2013 defending champions from Venice not making the final four.
