NASSC ready for another grandiose event

The McDonald’s 22nd North American Sand Soccer Championships are set for June 5th to 7th at Virginia Beach Oceanfront

A massive beach soccer movement is happening across the world and this year marks the 22nd time that the United States and more specifically Virginia Beach Oceanfront will be hosting one of the largest global beach soccer tournaments, in terms of teams, players, and spectators, from the 5th-7th of June. People will be flocking to the event from all over the host country as well as from nearly every corner of the planet to witness or play in this spectacular event. 

Recently affiliated with Beach Soccer Worldwide, the annual event has been raising awareness for the promotion of wellness and teamwork for 22 years now. The event, which stretches over 25 city blocks, serves as a breeding ground for the USA National Selection future prospects and additionally it brings together top-class talent from professional teams and clubs within America as well as abroad. This year there will be over 1,000 youth and adults teams comprised of over 10,000 players, all competing in the three day extravaganza. The participation is open to all, as there are youth boys and girls teams ages 8-19, adult men and women teams, as well as many military entries, hailing from 20 US states and several countries. 

The centerpiece of this large-scale event, that helps draw over 100,000 daily visitors, is the Pro/Am Cup, which includes many international teams. This year the list is highlighted by teams from Spain, FC Barcelona, Colombia, Meta BSC, the Bahamas, Quality BSC, and Canada, Team Canada. The local teams, from Virginia, HRSC Elite, the Tidewater Captains, and the Winners FC Stars will all hope to impress their fans and take home the coveted title.
