New Overall World Ranking published

The numbers have been tallied and the biggest mover of this month in the Overall World Ranking Presented by Power Horse is Egypt

Africa or the CAF region has been shaking up the recent ranking as Egypt has now successfully earned the Biggest Mover of the Month for the second time in three months. Sandwiched in between the two Egyptian successes was Trinidad and Tobago, in October. This marks the third time that the Biggest Mover in the Overall World Ranking  has been recognized and the title is once again Egypt’s to lose. The move this month for Egypt was 11 spots, jumping above big names such as Germany, Nigeria, France, Costa Rica, and Ecuador, to name a few. Egypt began November at the 32nd spot but now they sit all alone at 21, and the way things are going, they can target even higher.

The first ten teams in the ranking stood at, except for Argentina who jumped Paraguay to land in the top-10. Iran and Switzerland also switched places, spots six and seven. The number one team is Russia, followed by Portugal, Brazil, Italy, Tahiti, Iran, Switzerland, Mexico, Spain, and Argentina. Russia is fresh off their Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup Dubai 2015 title run, finishing just ahead of Tahiti. Of course earlier in the season it was Portugal who gained ground by winning the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2015 and the Euro Beach Soccer League 2015 Superfinal. Italy took home gold in the Mediterranean Beach Games Pescara 2015 late in the summer, while Tahiti, Mexico, and Argentina were participants in the Intercontinental Cup in Dubai in November, to go a long with Russia, Portugal, Egypt, and the UAE.

Points are awarded for winning matches, playing matches, winning event, and the better the result, the more points the teams can gain. The results are also weighted heavily towards the most recent events, making the “what have you done for me lately” question even more relevant. The Overall World Ranking Presented by Power Horse takes into account the scores, matches, and events from December 2011 up through November 2015. The next tournament on the calendar is the BSWW Tour Copa Lagos 2015, set for December in Nigeria.
