The sport continues to grow after the culmination of the Iran Beach Soccer Premier League.
The Iran Beach Soccer Premier League drew to a close last week as Parse Jonobi finished seven points clear to lift the title.
This year’s competition, the ninth edition, saw 13 teams play matches home and away – the first time the league featured games away from home – and had 156 clashes take place over the course of 26 weeks.
And, after all the action, it was Parse Jonobi who proved themselves as the best in the country, with Iran stars such as Seyed Peyman Hosseini, Mohammad Ahmadzadeh, Moslem Mesigar, Mostafa Kiani and Amirhossein Akbari helping ensure success.
The national team quintet played key roles in amassing their side a comfortable cushion that left them well clear of Malayan Bandar Anzali in second place, while Golsaposh Yazd finished three points further back in third.
At the other end of the table, Losman were the side to finish bottom of the pile as they suffered relegation to the first division alongside Moj Genaveh and Moghavemat Tiran.
The last few weeks have seen impressive steps taken in Iranian beach soccer, with the women’s national championship getting under way last week, and that theme continued with an Under-14 Beach Soccer Festival.
Held alongside the finale of the Iran Beach Soccer Premier League, the three-day event in Yazd City saw 12 teams compete, while referee and coaching courses also took place to help inspire the sport’s next generation.
