Portugal and Brazil keep winning: Final decision tomorrow

Portugal does not fail in front of Argentina

The Portuguese squad is to get in full confidence to the decisive game of this Mundialito being held at home. A victory today against combative Argentina have placed them in equal terms to Brazil, and the title will be decided tomorrow in a breathtaking showdown between these top-flight teams, undoubtedly among the world’s top-5 squads.

Argentina, in turn, have offered today a new instance of their competitiveness and their strong will to grow and earn a place among the sand’s best teams all over the globe. After making things really difficult for Brazil yesterday, they have been again a hard test for hosts Portugal today.

It was not until the second period that the Lusitanians could finally step forth in the score, thanks to Coimbra. A minute later, Madjer made it 2-0 and confirmed the Portuguese hunger. Argentina, though, did not crumble, and kept struggling to stand on their feet, ready for their opportunity. They could have shortened the score at the beginning of the third period, but star guardian Graça terrifically replied to the penalty kick shot by De Ezeyza, keeping the two-goal gap on the scoreboard untouched.

Little afterwards, Birlo sent a free kick missile that Mendoza could not save this time, to raise the final 3-0 in the score and make the wonderful crowd in Portimao go crazy again.

Goals: 1-0: Coimbra, min. 8 (3); 2-0: Madjer, min. 7 (2); 3-0: Birlo, min. 9 (3).

Brazil, no mercy on the USA

Brazil have secured all options for the Cup tomorrow after the heavy victory they have inflicted to the USA (9-1) in their second match in this BSWW Mundialito 2010. Brazilians have been absolutely superior to the North American side and have continuously punished their net.

Without being as brilliant as they can be, Brazil have offered a wide range of offensive solutions, with goal of all kind: long range shots, spectacular volleys, passing moves, free kick hits, etc. Brazil is always Brazil: the most dangerous team in the world, capable of wounding their opponents anywhere, anytime, and anyhow.

Besides, Brazilian powder is not kept in just some players, but in the whole squad. Any of the is more than able to score, as they have proved today. Almost every field player has hit the net at least once, but André and Bueno (who did so yesterday, by the way). Yet from the first minutes of the first period, goals began inevitably falling into the Verdeamarela’s account, and the North American options vanished almost once and for all at the end of the second period. The amazing goal by team captain Albuquerque was their only moment in the whole game.

Goals: 1-0: Anderson, min. 10 (1); 2-0: Bruno, min. 2 (1); 3-0: Daniel, min. 7 (2); 4-0: Sidney, min. 3 (2); 5-0: Benjamin, min. 1 (2); 6-0: Sidney, min. 10 (3); 7-0: Dino, min. 5 (3); 8-0: Daniel, min. 3 (3); 8-1: Albuquerque, min. 3 (3); 9-1: Bruno, min. 0 (3)
