Eight teams take part in the competition, with two preliminary rounds, before the final on the 12th of December
Eight sides will take part in the Qatar Beach Soccer Championship, taking off this same Friday. The Championship format comprises two preliminary legs, to be played 4th and 8th of December, and the semi-finals plus final, to happen on the 12th this same month.
The vibe of beach soccer has been strongly felt on Qatari soil during the last years, with FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Qualifiers happening at Katara Beach, and this has led to the creation of a beach soccer championship that adds to the UAE, Bahrain, and Oman National Leagues in that area of the Middle East region.
In the opening match day of the Qatar Beach Soccer League, Umm Salal will take on Al Sadd while Al Sailiyah have been drawn to face Al Rayyan. In other opening-day clashes, Al Kharaitiyat face Police Academy while Al Arabi take on Al Khor and Al Wakrah square off against Al Gharafa.
