Russian Championship rolls on

The latest Leg of the Russian Super League saw the favourites Lokomotiv add to their point total

The Russian Super League is a thing of beauty as they foster homegrown talent, which have won two the last three FIFA Beach Soccer World Cups, but at the same time they require diversity in their teams, bringing in some of the worlds’ best talent, including Brazilians, Spaniards, and Belarusians, just to name a few. In fact, the leading vote getter so far this season has been Bryshtsel, the prolific goal scorer from Belarus.

The regular season championship barely finished over the weekend and the final standings of the League are as follows: 1st place – Kristall – 34 points, 2nd place – Lokomotiv – 30 points, 3rd place – Krylia Sovetov – 24 points. 4th place – Dynamo – 18 points. Only the top-4 clubs are qualified for the Superfinal, which will consist of a semi-finals round and a winner-take-all finale. The bottom-two teams are relegated, creating for an even more competitive beach soccer league in Russia.

The Suerfinal will take place in Sochi from September 14th-19th and it will include some of the best Russian and international players, as quite a few reinforcements were enlisted for the final regular season phase. Some of those players include but are not limited to the following list: Fernando (BRA), Daniel (BRA), and Belchior (POR), all playing for Lokomotiv.
