Sable Dancers leave Thun stage alone atop standings

Stockhorn Arena was the sight of an important group stage for every division of the Swiss League from the 12th-13th of July

The Women´s League, the Challenge League, and the Premier League, all played over the weekend in the much anticipated event. The two top teams in the Premier League, BSC Sable Dancers Bern and Grasshopper Club Zürich, came into the event undefeated with 18 points through six matches. The two Swiss giants faltered though in their pursuit of perfection, with Sable Dancers drawing against BSC Chargers Baselland, and Grasshopper losing 6-5 on the final day against the league leading team from Bern.

Sable Dancers and Grasshopper remain at the top of the table with 22 and 21 points, respectively, with the season winding down, all culminating in the Cup final on the 8th of August and the league final on the 22nd of August. The three stages left will provide plenty of excitement as there are a slew of teams within striking distance, including: BSC Winti Panters, BSC Scorpions Basel, BSC Havan Shots Aargau, and BSC Chargers Baselland.

Lokomotive Roggeli, the leaders in the Challenge League, continued their drive to promotion with a win in Thun as well. The two divisions within the Challenge League are tightly contested as the top team and bottom team in the South Division are only separated by three points. There is just as much competition in the Women´s League with two, GC Beach and BSC Jona, tied for the lead with 12 points each. GC Beach won over the weekend while Jona stumbled in a loss though almost every team is still poised to make a run to the final being held on the 22nd of August.
