There are no shortage of candidates for the title. Reigning champions Russia will be looking to the likes of goalkeeper Andrey Bukhlitskiy and front man Dmitry Shishin to fire them to a third straight world title, while hosts Portugal are banking on the talent and experience of Madjer, one of the greatest players in the history of the competition.

Runners-up at Tahiti 2013, Spain will be aiming to go one step further with the battle-hardened Dona and the fresh legs of new face Llorenc, while the opponents of four-time winners Brazil will need to keep a very close eye on the fancy footwork of Bruno Xavier.

Ranking high among the dark horses are Iran, whose challenge will be led by the talented and free-scoring Mohammad Ahmadzadeh, while Mexico have one of the safest pairs of hands in the game in keeper Miguel Estrada. Not to be outdone, Paraguay can count on the vast experience of former international Roberto El Toro Acuna, who recently made the switch from grass to sand.

With a quality cast like that, the FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Portugal 2015 looks set to be quite a tournament.
