World Winners Cup: A new concept to maintain growth in the sport

We are delighted to present the World Winners Cup, a new club competition designed with the intention of uniting the beach soccer world even more. This competition will hit the stage in Alanya (Turkey) between the 23rd and 29th of September*.
After much planning, Beach Soccer Worldwide have taken the step to create a new concept that will welcome any official beach soccer club into a global competition. And in this new era of beach soccer, the event will feature both men's and women's competitions.
The success we have experienced with the Euro Winners Cup, which keeps growing year after year and has become an absolute emblem for all the teams and players in the world, made us consider that the concept needs to be replicated on a different scale, with wider, more inclusive parameters.
The main difference between the World Winners Cup and the European club showpiece, though, is that in this first year, any club, as long as it is sanctioned by their national Football Association and it takes part in the national competitions, will be able to compete.
It does not need to be the champion of its national league, but any team willing to participate has the door open to do so (provided, again, that they are officially recognized by their national FA).
Another condition, which only applies to European teams, is that in order to take part in the World Winners Cup 2019, the team must have taken part in the 2019 edition of the Euro Winners Cup or the Euro Winners Challenge.
For the first year, we identified Alanya as a venue with great potential, for many different reasons. Its strategic placement between Europe, Asia, and Africa, its mild weather all year round, the great hotels and accommodation on offer, its tourism expertise and a very well connected airport (with Istambul being one of the main airline hubs in the world) make the Turkish resort an excellent venue for a global-scope competition.
On top of all that, Alanya is well-versed in the ways of beach soccer. The Mediterranean city is one of the main venues of the Turkish Beach Soccer League, having hosted the final stages of the national competition for the last few years, it is one of beach soccer's main destinations in the country, and has also recently hosted international competitions.
The city council, together with the involvement of Alanyasport club, have been highly interested in hosting this new competition, which makes us absolutely certain that it will become a new historic chapter for our beloved sport.
Just one day after the tournament being announced, we have already received great interest in participation from players and teams, which is another great sign.
We can’t wait until September to see it kick-off - but the wait will be worth it!
*Dates will vary according to the number of teams participating teams and the final competition format.
