The battle begins in El Jadida!
Fight for the tickets to the World Cup in CAF region sees the hosts and the three Central African powerhouses seizing first wins
Cote d?Ivoire grasp first points at stake
The Ivorian National Beach Soccer team started this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup Africa Qualifier El Jadida-Morocco off with the right foot. The Elephants, who were unable to get beyond the group stage on last edition, edged Egypt in the opening game of the competition, proving they want that not to happen ever again.
Just four minutes into the game, Sakanoko swept Cote d?Ivoire ahead, with David to follow little afterwards to make things 2-0. Before the Pharaohs could find a way to react, David hit again to push the 3-0 onto the score, almost closing the doors to the points for the Egyptians.
Midway that second leg, Aly, who had been trying to have his team stay in the fight through individual moves, finally found the way to Enam?s nets, with a laudable shot that meant the 3-1. But the Egyptian reaction was not to get any further. Instead, Aka stung again to restore the three-goal advantage which got his team cruising past the third time to the victory.
Goals: 1-0: Sakanoko, min. 8 (1); 2-0: David, min. 0 (1); 3-0: David, min. 10 (2); 3-1: Aly, min. 5 (2); 4-1: Aka, min. 2 (2);
Senegal upset mighty Madagascar to seize first points
Defending champions, and the big surprise of the 2011 edition, Madagascar, squared off in the game opening Group A in this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 ? CAF QaulifierEl Jadida-Morocco. Senegal, who have played three world cups, and have won the continental qualifier in two occasions, made use of their experience to bend the mighty Malagasy. The solid performance by the Senegalese and the posts (Madagascar hit the bar up to four times in the game) were finally too much to fight against for Ramarolahy?s team.
Forces remained balanced during the first period, with Giovanni replying Fall?s opener. But, as second period commenced, Ngalla Sylla fired two stunning missiles home to get the Lions from Teranga ahead again?and for good. Those two strokes seemed to have an instant implication on Madagascar?s mood, helping defending champions finally finish the game in the third period.
Without leading an outstanding performance during the first two periods today, Koukpaki finally appeared in the game during the third, netting two goals that, together with Mamadou Sylla?s long-range shot, sealed the win for Diop?s lads. Cheikh widened the distance with just three minutes to go, and, despite Tiana and Fabrice pulled two goals back for Madagascar, Senegal kept the points to get ahead in group A.
Goals: 1-0: Fall, min. 8 (1); 1-1: Giovanni, min. 1 (1); 2-1: Ng. Sylla, min. 10 (2); 3-1: Ng. Sylla, min. 1 (2); 4-1: Koukpaki, min. 8 (3); 5-1: M. Sylla, min. 5 (3); 6-1: Koukpaki, min. 5 (3); 7-1: Cheikh, min. 3 (3); 7-2: Tiana, min. 1 (3); 7-3: Fabrice, min. 1 (3);
Nigeria bends Libya after prolific first period (4-8)
Nigeria did not miss the occasion to jump at the top of the table in group B, after a consistent victory over Libya. The Libyan tried to contest the Nigerian until the end, despite being faced to inspired duo Olawale and Emeka, with four and three goals respectively, and a blunt 4-0 run in the first period,.
Four goals in the first twelve minute helped the Beach Eagles to command the game from a rather comfortable position. Two hits at the beginning of the second leg put Libya back on the fight, but Eneka and Olawale netted again before the break to restore the 4-hit gap within the same period.
With just one period to go, coming back such an unbalanced socre appeared as a really difficult task for Libya. But Kharif wanted his team to try? Emeka hit back again with the 3-7, but Shushan would pull one more back for the Libyan, before Abu?s free kick would put the game to an end with the 4-8.
Goals: 0-1: Emmanuel, min. 11 (1); 0-2: Olawale, min. 9 (1); 0-3: Olawale, min. 9 (1); 9-4: Emeka, min. 3 (1); 1-4: Hani, min. 9 (2); 2-4: Shushan, min. 9 (2); 2-5: Olawale, min. 3 (2); 2-6: Emeka, min. 1 (2); 3-6: Kharif, min. 10 (3); 3-7: Emeka, min. 7 (3); 4-7: Shushan, min. 3 (3); 4-8: Abu, min. 1 (3);
Morocco present their candidacy?
The Moroccan National Side earned the first three points in this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 ? CAF Qualifier they are hosting in El Jadida, and they did it in a brilliant fashion. El Hadaoui?s lads blasted Ghana in their first match in front of their own crowd, and jump to the highest place in the table of group A.
After Sapper?s immediate equalizer to Nassim?s opener, it seemed that newcomers Ghana were ready to upset the hosts, but two more goals by the Moroccan before the first break unleveled things again. The Lions of the Atlas would then feel strong, and four more goals in the second leg smashed all Ghanaian options. Brigel widened the gap with the 1-8 and, dspite Lawer pulled one back for the Black Stars, Nassim would close the score with his third goal today.
The final 2-9 pushed the hosts to the top of group A, thanks to a +7 goal records, at the time it becomes the best evidence that Morocco are determined to go all the way to the last stage of this FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2013 ? CAF Qualfier.
