In ancient Roman arena the Euro Beach Soccer Cup began for the second consecutive year, the most exciting European Cup discipline for the summer. Eurocup quarter-final, which saw the top eight continental teams, was recived with sun and good sand, in Circo Massimo.

The first match of the day saw victory of Portugal over Switzerland, vice world champions. The result of 2-1, however, is witnessing of a race until the last pull. To unlock, in fact, the usual superlative Madjer has invented an incredible goal in just 9'' before finishing. With this success, the Portuguese (6 times winners all'Eurocup) will face Italy in their semi-final.

In the second game scheduled, Spain, defending champion, has successfully passed the Poland striker Saganowski to 8-3. Amarelle and friends played with determination, giving flashes of great play. Now Spain, who won the 2008 and 2009 edition, will play against Russia, who won  the European championship last August.

The Russians confirmed the excellent state of form that led them to win the first part of the European Championship for their fans last Sunday, marking a difference in preparation technique and considerable physical strength with the French. Eric Cantona saw his team giving a disappointing result that will try to be compensated tomorrow.

And finally Italy, after a bad start - recived three goals in the first few minutes - could recuperate their motivation and strenght and finished winning. "We were nervous too early in the race, especially our best men, and this made us lose lucidity, but we have always been confident and in good form, and we will play against Portugal as against the Hungarians, but without the initial uncertainties. " said the Head Coach Giancarlo Magrini, giving confidence to his team and the fans.

Semi-finals start tomorrow at 17,30 with the match between Spain and Russia.
