Azteca and Brazilians put hands on the Cup

After beating USA from the penalty spot, Mexico takes on so-far invincible Brazil to resolve who is to bag Copa America

A one-point difference in the table after the second matcday in the Copa America Beach Soccer means nothing with the Brazil-Mexico we have ahead. After having collected two new victories today, despite being Mexico’s a two-point-giving one, CONMEBOL and CONCACAF champions will resolve tomorrow if the Cup stays within the Brazilian boundaries, thus extending the hosts sweet moment, or travels north to the ‘Tri’ dominions.

Mexico 3(3)-3(2) USA
A Mexico-USA is always a match to pay a lot of attention two. These two sides, undeniably among the continental big guys, always deliver a honest, hard-fought, balanced and skill-packed combat whenever and wherever they are to face each other. Today, the game was so tight that only the penalty shootout could pass sentence on who was to keep the points. It was Mexico, after goalkeeper Robles hero-kind performance, the ones to do so, gaining at the same time the chance to play Brazil in the decision tomorrow with the Cup in the horizon.

Brazil 7-3 Argentina
It was not an easy morning for Brazil today, with Argentina seriously threatening their impeccable 2012 service records. The Albiceleste, in the tastiest battle of the CONMEBOL panorama when it comes to hitting a ball with the feet, gave the Tetracampão three big frights that made the hosts’ plans tremble. In a brilliant first stage of the game, Levi’s and Hilaire’s successful attempts, and Medero after Bruno Xavier’s hit, managed a surprising 1-3 by mid second period.

All alarms raised in the Hot Park stadium in Rio Quente, and the time for Guga’s side to react before it was too late. Fortunately for the hosts, the team banks on enough powder to knock any opponent down, and three minute afterwards, Bruno Malias lit the Brazilian confidence to begin a terrific comeback which would not end until the score was secure enough.

One minute later, André and Malias himself had managed to turn the score around, with the World Cup top scorer, Buru and Sidney to follow in the third period to get definitely hold of the three points that get Brazil on top of the table. Notwithstanding, that position means nothing, as only a victory against the Mexicans tomorrow opens the door to the cup for Guga’s lads.
