Draw held for Women’s Euro Beach Soccer Cup

The Women’s teams discover who they will face in the group stages of the competition

Today, the draw was held to decide the teams for each group in the 2018 version of the Women’s Euro Beach Soccer Cup.

The third edition of the competition will see us return to Portugal this July to decide the champion of Europe’s national teams.

The tournament will take place from the 6th until the 8th of July in the Portuguese seaside town of Nazaré, just a month after the Euro Winners Cup.

Last year’s winners and runners-up (England and Switzerland) started the draw automatically placed in separate groups.

Spain, the Czech Republic, the Netherlands and Russia were the sides waiting to see which group they would join.

The groups are as follows:

Group A

England

Spain

Czech Republic

Group B

Switzerland

Netherlands

Russia

Spain being drawn in the same group as England means that the previous (and only) two champions of the competition will face each other in the group stages and, seeing as there is only one available place in the final from each group, each of the three teams will have to give it their all to proceed.
