EBSL 2011 goes to Berlin!

o2 World to host the continental league, with Portugal, Russia, Turkey, Romania, Germany, Czech Rep. and Andorra

The Euro Beach Soccer League will travel to one of the capitals of the world for its second stage of the season: Berlin. From July 8th to 10th, the German metropolis will host this leg of Continental tournament, featuring the current European champions, Portugal, Russia and Romania in Division A. Hosts Germany will struggle in Division B looking to secure their tickets to the Promotion Final, to be played in August, where they would have the chance to fight for a top-flight slot for the following season. They’ll need to beat Czech Republic and Andorra to do so.

Berlin is a wonderful place for the Euro Beach Soccer League to happen, with an amazing setting to boost the magic of this thrilling sport to its maximum expression. The spectacular o2 World will host the second stage of the top continental tournament, with the Beach Soccer Stadium set right at its doors. As always, the event will lack none of the things that make this sport such a magic experience: the flashing play, the beauty both on and off the pitch, the vivid crowd, the music, the glamour… And everything is to happen in the cosmopolite and colorful German capital, a city that perfectly matches with this spirit. Don’t miss it; it is a spectacle really worth seeing…

Great teams but just one cup

The EBSL – Berlin 2011 will see a top-level clash among some of the most powerful squads in the Old Continent. Although being the current title-holders, it is nonsense to label Portugal as unique favourites, especially considering the Russian power. But this is not the only menace for Madjer, Alan, Belchior and co. since Turkey have already proved that they can be able to beat anyone after their bittersweet performance in the opening stage of the season in Bern, where they fought until the very last second against big guns Switzerland, Italy and Spain only to be left with no points in the end. Maci’s Romania, as usual, is a really dangerous team, capable of scoring a goal almost from everywhere thanks to a skill-loaded bunch of talented players.

In the Division B of this EBSL – Berlin 2011, Germany will fight in front of their crowd for a place in the Promotion Final (Moscow, August 4th-7th). It is not an easy enterprise, though, since Czech Republic is a really competitive side, and although not being able to take part in last season’s Promotion Final due to administrative contingencies, will do their best not to be left out for this one by the German. Andorra is necessarily given the lesser options because of their rank, but after ending last season with a victory over Norway, their evident growth could bring some surprise…
