EBSL Siófok 2015 almost here

Dignitaires and beach soccer VIPs commenced the countdown in Siófok with a press conference at City Hall

The Euro Beach Soccer League 2015 Group Phase is coming to an end with the final stage before the Superfinal and Promotion Final in Estonia at the end of August. The press conference for the EBSL event was filled with excitement as this marks the second consecutive year that the beach resort town on the famous Balaton Lake has hosted a top-flight beach soccer event. The participants included the Head Coach of the Hungarian National Selection, Tamas Weisz, the Vice-Mayor of Siófok, Anita Potocskane Körösi, the President of the Hungarian Beach Soccer Association, Zsolt Isvak, and Gabino Renales, Beach Soccer Worldwide Deputy Vice-President.

The promise of a bright future was assured by the Vice-Mayor, “We are more than happy to have beach soccer here again in part because the people are very familiar with the sport here and there will be many fans attending the games to prove that. It is also important to continue with beach soccer because we believe our beach soccer town will attract people from the other 11 nations who are participating this year because they will see the reasons we are such a renowned summer town.” To her point, the teams of the Czech Republic, Norway, England, Moldova, Andorra, Turkey, Romania, Azerbaijan, Spain, Switzerland, and the Ukraine are more than happy to have the chance to complete here in Siófok.

The President of the Hungarian Beach Soccer Association joyously stated, “Beach soccer has been, is currently, and will continue to be trendy and it perfectly in Siófok, which is a trendy city. This union is ideal for the sport, the teams, and most importantly the fans, as we expect many locals and foreigners to come enjoy the high-quality matches. It does not hurt that Hungary will be playing in Division A after winning the Promotion Final in 2014.”  The past, present, and future are all coming together in this event and the energy in the press conference was as high as any other event, with all parties involved enjoying the pre-event kick-off.

The success of last year and Hungary’s results last year and this year also had the BSWW Deputy Vice-President excited to say, “This event will be a great success and it is in part because of all the sponsors, the Hungarian Beach Soccer Association, and of course Hungary. The country has invested in beach soccer and it has shown in the events, and since this is beach soccer, we do not see it slowing down.” All the hype for this event will be over on the 7th of  August at 12.15 local time, when the Czech Republic will take on Norway.
