Get ready for edition 4 of the Euro Beach Soccer Cup!

There is just one day to go until the women’s European championship kicks off in Nazaré

The six women’s national sides competing in the Euro Beach Soccer Cup Nazaré 2019 have arrived in Portugal ahead of kick off tomorrow.

The event begins at 10am local time, when two former champions, England and Russia, go head-to-head to start this year’s campaign on the front foot.

Russia may be the defending champions, but England come into the competition on the back of a trophy is Salou, where they beat the Russians to secure a place at the World Beach Games in Qatar.

Their Group A rivals Netherlands will be in action on Saturday, as they rest on day one.

In Group B, another former champion, Spain will meet Switzerland, who have come second in two of the three editions of the Euro Beach Soccer Cup. Czech Republic will see their first action on Saturday, along with the Dutch.

Will the fourth edition of the European championship see a new team of queens crowned?

The stakes are high, and with women’s beach soccer gaining momentum and the bar being raised higher and higher every year, lifting the trophy here in Nazaré will be no easy task…let the games begin!
