Holders yet to win as Libertadores groups take shape

Monagas, Cerro Porteño and Deportes Iquique sit top of the groups after two games

Only three sides remain unbeaten in the CONMEBOL Libertadores de Fútbol Playa 2019, as the holders Vitoria are yet to pick up a point.

Day two at the Comité Olímpico in Luque, Paraguay, saw local side Cerro Porteño and Vasco da Gama stay perfect on six points in Group B, as they each defeated Racing Club and Academia Tito Drago to secure places in the next round.

Deportes Iquique of Chile remain unbeaten too, but dropped a point in extra time against Paraguayan side San Bernardo, who sit on three points alongside Hamacas FC (BOL) in Group C, while Fluminese Blasa are yet to pick up a point.

Another team yet to pick up any points are, surprisingly, the defending champions EC Vitoria. Each of their Group A rivals have picked up a normal time win, and as a result are tied after two matchdays on three points.

The final day of the group stage will see eight teams – first and second from each group as well as the two best third-place finishers – qualify for the knockout stage.
