Hosts overturn El Salvador in extra time in Tangshan

Uruguay remained the only side to stay perfect at the Goalfun Beach Soccer Championship as China take two points

La Celeste move ahead in the Goalfun CFA Championship group while El Salvador suffered their first defeat to hosts China.

El Salvador struggled under the pressure of their Chinese hosts and eventually the number ten Louis found the net in extra time to clinch two points, sending China into third behind their Salvadorian rivals.

Uruguay had a slightly nervier match than their previous two but still took all three points against Trinidad and Tobago to extend their unbeaten run to three and moving into first place.

Trinidad and Tobago are still looking for their first win at the Goalfun CFA China-Latin America Beach Soccer Championship, and as the only side yet to pick up a win, sit in sixth place with two matchdays remaining.

Denmark registered their first point in Tangshan, after Bahamas dragged them all the way to the penalty spot, where the Scandinavians netted all three to move off the bottom of the group.

Tuesday will see the hosts look for win number three against Bahamas, while Uruguay will make it 12 out of 12 points if the can beat El Salvador, who currently sit in second.

Trinidad and Tobago will switch places with Denmark if they manage to beat them in the first game of the day.
