Last four to vie for the final in Rio

Vasco da Gama vs Flamengo and Sampaio Corrêa vs Anchieta will define the final of the Campeonato Brasileiro

The Campeonato Brasileiro de Beach Soccer inches to its decider, with four teams still in the fight once the group phase of this final stage is over. The Carioca Clasico between Flamengo and defending champions Vasco da Gama will decide the first of the finalists, whereas Anchieta, from Espírito Santo, and Sampaio Corrêa (Maranhão) will take the second berth.

With two victories each, Flamengo and Sampaio Corrêa squared off to see who would take the first place in group D. The final 2-5 for the Maranhão side, thanks to three goals by superstar Datinha, defined that. Renanzinho and Alisson rounded the win for Sampaio over Flamengo, in which Thanger’s braces fell way too short for the carioca. Despite the defeat, the Rubro-negro had their ticket to semi-finals defined, although they will need to take on Vasco da Gama in their way to the final.

In Group C, a tight win by Vasco da Gama over Anchieta (Espíritu Santo) made the Vascaínos the best team in the group. The game was a see-saw battle all throughout, with Brazilian internationals  Catarino (2), Lucão, Mauricinho e Jordan scoring for the Carioca side, and Brendo (2), Zé Lucas e Bê Martins replying for Anchieta.
