Moghavemate Golsapoosh end on a high in Yazd

The home favourites made it three wins from three against Sporting Clube.

Iranian side Moghavemate Golsapoosh ended their successful Eurasia Beach Soccer Cup campaign with a flourish, beating Portuguese giants Sporting Clube 7-0 in the final action of the tournament.

Golsapoosh had already claimed the inaugural title in Yazd with wins against Levante UD and BSC Lokomotiv Moscow but followed that up with a dominant success as the tournament wound down to a close.

A hat-trick from tournament top scorer Seyed Ali Nazem did much of the damage for Golsapoosh while Mostafa Dehghani, Mahdi Shirmohammadi, Javad Dehganizadeh and Mohammadali Mokhtari also joined him on the scoresheet.

With three wins from three, the winners finished six points clear at the summit while Russian outfit Lokomotiv followed in second despite a final-day defeat to Levante on penalties.

The Spaniards were level at 3-3 going after normal time after Pablo Gonzalez grabbed a late equaliser in the final stages of the third frame.

After neither side were able to find an extra-time winner, Levante held their nerve from the spot to win, although they finish bottom of the pile regardless.
