Riviera Maya Cup officially launched

Opening Press Conference kick starts the competition, to begin tomorrow with a thrilling Brazil-USA (13.00h)

The Beach Soccer Worldwide 2014 was officially presented today, with the opening press conference held by the stadium, at the Mamita’s Beach Club facilities. The press conference was attended by the General Manager of the Fideicomiso de Promoción Turística de la Riviera Maya, Darío Flota, Dani Homedes, CEO of Dara Sports, Omar Quinatana, Operations Manager of Mamita’s Beach Club, Josep Ponset, BSWW Head of Competitions and Tournament Director, and Ramón Raya, Mexico National Coach.

Daniel Homedes, CEO of Dara Sports, was the first to take the floor, and highlighted the great international impact this Beach Soccer Worldwide  Riviera Maya Cup, which “will be broadcasted, live, in more than 40 countries globally, reaching more than 120 million households.” Homedes also wanted to stress “the huge support we have from both the Government of Riviera Maya, who year after year make this event possible, and the sponsors, whose backing is absolutely key for the organization of this Cup“.
 
Omar Quintana, Operations Manager of responded to this appreciation and assured that “for us, it is a true honor to host such competition here in the Mamita’s Beach Club, and will always welcome beach soccer“.

After that, Josep Ponset, Beach Soccer Worldwide Head of Competitions and director of this Riviera Maya Cup 2014 remembered that “this is a fully sanctioned event, as well as it is included in the Rankings counts.” Besides, Ponset also pointed the “importance this competition is gaining yearly, and its relevant part in the growth of beach soccer in such an active region as the CONCACAF“.

Ramón Raya, Head Coach of the Mexican National Team took the floor afterwards, and analyzed the teams Mexico is going to face. “We know all of them pretty well, as we have fought in many competitions lastly. We know what Brazil is capable of, regardless the squad they bring or the moment in the generational evolution they might be involved in, or USA, our neighbours, with the huge rivalry between us always bringing exciting duels. The one we know less about is Germany, but with such a football and sports tradition, it is just a matter of time that they become a beach soccer powerhouse.”

Dario Flota, General Manager of closed the remembered that “it is a great satisfaction to see such competition come true, especially because of its international projection and the level of the teams involved. This top-flight beach soccer event, beyond high-class sporting action, means an invaluable opportunity for the promotion of the Riviera Maya.
