Thank you Torredembarra for another fantastic week!
La Costa Daurada yielded amazing results as it was host to over 41,000 fans for the EBSL Superfinal and Promotion Final from August 14th-17th
The ideal beach town was set as the site for the end of season tournament and there was so much excitement that no one could wait for the event. Now that it is over we have to thank everyone involved, the city, the fans, and of course the teams. This was the third time in the last three years that Torredembarra, Spain was an integral part of the Euro Beach Soccer League season, and the last two years, it was the last stop of the season.
Over 41,000 fans and spectators came to see the magnificent display of sport, entertainment and fun, all in the beautiful stadium on the beach. The event itself was just as tremendous as the hosts had their team play in the Superfinal, to determine Europe’s best team. Despite the near story book ending, as Russia defeated Spain in the final, it was a resounding success for all the cogs in the machine that allowed this tournament to take place.
2012 marked the first year that the Catalonian coastal city took part in the EBSL, it was an important group stage, and now the past two years have been the site for the season’s deciding events. The continued prosperity of the event has laid a solid foundation for future endeavors in the city and region.
