Ittihad Kalba rule in first leg of UAE league
Al Orooba and Dibba Al Hosn secured also a place in the championship?s final stage, to happen in Dubai next April
Ittihad Kalba became the winners of the first leg of the UAE Beach Soccer League, the one held in the Fujairah Region. With a loud victory over Masafi (10-1), the yellow side clinched their 15th points to stay solid at the top of the table. Ittihan Kalba’s target man, Khalid Ismael, was awarded as the leg’s Best Player and Top Scorer, and the team’s rearguard was also excellently safe, as Adel Hassan was considered the best goalkeeper.
Al Orooba tried to follow the track, but, although beating Dibba Al Hosn (8-3) the distance was already too big for them to catch Ittihad. Notwithstanding, the victory gave them the second position, precisely overtaking Dibba in the silver place of the table. With these results, these three teams get qualified for the UAE National Beach Soccer League final stage, happening in Al Mamzar Beach (Dubai) next April. Their opponents for the Championship will be known soon, as two more qualifying rounds are to take place in the Dubai and Sharjah regions.
The United Arab Emirates National Beach Soccer Coach, Marcelo Mendes, assured he was “really satisfied with what I have seen. We have been following a bunch of players which could get a chance in the National team, as they are performing in a really satisfying level”. The Brasilian is looking forward for the following rounds of the competition, with the next one happening precisely in Sharjah, and the final stage in Dubai, where “a beautiful battle is going to take place”.
These were the results and final standings of the Fujairah region stage:
Ittihad Kalba 10-1 Masafi

1. Ittihad Kalba (15 points)
2. Al Orooba (11 points)
3. Dibba Al Hosn (9 points)
4. Fujairah (6 points)
5. Al Khaleej (3 points)
