Brazil strikes back for the Mundialito

After two years of Portuguese reign in Portimao, the Mundialito will fly back to Brazil, after Soares’s squad managed a brilliant victory over Portugal to pack to Cup again. Amid a wonderful crowd, the two teams have offered an amazing, hard-fought game only unleveled in the third period.

None of the teams managed to move the score during the first two times, although both of them have had some chances. It was clear, at that time, that no one wanted to step backwards in the score, and any mistake would be profited by the opponent. This is always a certainty when you play against players such as Benjamin, Daniel, Bruno or Madjer, Alan, B. Novo,…

After the stroke exchange had done no harm on any of the contenders, Daniel finally found the way to the net for Brazil, and the game changed radically at that moment. Things were to become even harder for Portugal when Bilro gained an early bath after the referee though he had gone too far with his complains. The Verdeamarela side took a good advantage of their momentary numerical superiority and Anderson scored the second after a wonderful combination move.

Portugal found it impossible to shorten the distance, and Bueno and Sidney finished all hosts possibilities with the third and fourth hit by the Brazilians. Brazil, then, got their hands again onto a trophy that historically belongs to them, thanks to a record of eleven victories.

Goals: 0-1: Daniel, min. 11 (3); 0-2: Anderson, min. 8 (3); 0-3: Bueno, min. 3 (3); 0-1: Sidney, min. 1 (3).

A smashing first period merits Argentina the third place

Albiceleste side earned the third position in this BSWW Mundialito after overtaking the USA in a victory they constructed mainly in a devastating first 12 minutes.  After the first horn, the South American squad was 1-5 up, mainly thanks to a 0-4 run in the first 8 minutes. Dallera, Leiva, Leguizaumón and Levi were the ones to build up this almost insurmountable distance. Yuri Morales began to climb it for the USA, but De Ezeyza closed a dream first time for the Argentinean with the fifth goal.

Despite the huge distance, strong willed North Americans never turned their backs to the game and tried always to reenlist into the spectacle. Valentine was the one to lead Soto’s lads, with two goals, one in the second period and another one in the third. But then, the Argentinean, who had somehow geared down after the great advantage they had achieved, realized that the USA were not that far at that moment, and tried hard to regain a comfortable gap in the score.

De Ezeyza managed so, when tapping a penalty kick in with four minutes to go. This sixth goal secured the victory for Argentina, and gave them somehow a deserved prize after their good performances against giants Portugal and Brazil.

Goals: 0-1: Dallera, min. 10 (1); 0-2: Leiva, min. 7 (1); 0-3: Legizamon, min. 4 (1);0- 4: Levi, min. 4 (1); 1-4: Morales, min. 2 (1); 1-5: De Ezeyza, min. 1 (1); 2-5: Valentine, min. 5 (2); 3-5: Valentine, min. 6 (3); 3-6: De Ezeyza, min. 4 (3).
