Dubai makes it again!
Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup 2012 becomes a new huge success, and confirms the venue as a dream factory
After last year’s amazing Samsung Beach Soccer Intercontinental Cup, it seemed impossible to build an even better event for the second edition. But Dubai did it. This 2012, Beach Soccer came back to one of its homes to jointly experience a new huge success… The Beach Soccer showpiece in Dubai Festival City, besides bringing on the best teams in the world for a insurmountable spectacle on the sand set up an unforgettable party with thousands and thousands of spectators, music, dancing, freestyle…
The growth of the sport in the region, indeed, could not be understood without the key role Dubai and the UAE have been playing since many years ago. The role of the Dubai Sports Council, brilliantly steered by HH Sheik Hamdan Bin Mohammed Bin Rashid Al Maktoum and the General Secretary, Dr. Ahmed Al Sharif, has been crucial for this to happen. All the expectations and trust Beach Soccer Worldwide have placed in the city have been fully given back, and even more than that. Since the first FIFA Beach Soccer World Cup 2006 – Asia Qualifier, the relationship has been getting stronger and stronger, and the lasts events held on Emirati soil prove that the sport feels at home when in Dubai.
This is why Beach Soccer Worldwide, with president Luis Felipe Tavares and vice-president Joan Cuscó ahead, feel there is still a long way to walk together for Dubai and the sport. So far, the deal secures the presence of a major international Beach Soccer event every year until 2017, but everyone is confident that that will not be, by far, the end of the story. The binomial Dubai-Beach Soccer has a bright future ahead…
